Summary
Boogie Woogie is a swing style which has its roots in the European 6-count style of the 50s Rock n Roll that reflects the exuberant feeling of the rockin fifties with its petticoats, pony tails, and cool attitude. It is similar to the US East Coast style, but is richer in unique steps and moves that have inspired many dancers and have been adopted in many other swing styles. Boogie Woogie is famous for its hot, smooth, and exciting footwork and the emphasis on interpretation of the music without fixed choreography. Today, Boogie Woogie is danced both socially and in competitions mainly to the original hot music of the late 40s and 50s (e.g. Boogie Woogie, Rhythm n Blues, Rock n Roll, Rockabilly).
Marcus & Bärbl have been teaching classes and workshops in more than 15 countries all over the world. They were given the prestigious Feather Award in 1996 and 1997, and the International Dance Teacher Award in 2002. Among their many competition titles are: World Champions, three times World Vice Champions, US Open Champions and Rock n Socks Marathon Champions. They are also the organizers of the World famous Rock That Swing Festival in Munich, Germany.

great 6 count moves and instruction. Loved the footwork variations and the instructor demos.
LJH - June 24, 2015Marcus and Barbl - always excellent. This is really 6 count East Coast Swing and it should probably be listed that way. Brings 6 count up to the level of an advanced dance style, not just a "beginner" dance. Really enjoyed this one. Everyone should.
